Hi !
I'm Éloïse, the designer behind Lolo Carotte products. I make decorative objects for the home using various artisanal techniques, including punch needle. The thread that unites each of my creations? Textile, yarn and wool that bring comfort, softness and texture to interior spaces. A jack of all trades passionate about design and craftsmanship, I love soaking up the organic patterns that surround me and I transform my inspirations into colorful, funky and playful objects.
Who's Lolo Carotte?
Lolo Carotte is a nickname I gave myself many years ago, a combination of "Lolo", my personal nickname, and "poil de carotte" (an expression meaning ''red head'' in French), the artificial color of my hair at the time. While my hair is no longer red, nicknames stick to you for a long time whether you like it or not. I racked my brains to come up with a title for my small business, and finally thought it'd be natural to go with Lolo Carotte. So here's the little story of Lolo Carotte.

Ever since I was a little girl, I've loved crafts in all (or almost all) their forms, with a particular affection for working with wool. I've always had a project on the go, purely out of a need to create with my hands while clearing my head. So much so that in 2018, the urge to sell my creations began to tickle me. I was going to bring neck warmers back into fashion - the ones we wore when we were kids to play outside in winter. For the record, as there's often a common thread when you're creating, the logo I'd designed was a rabbit. Rabbit / Carrot... following me? Unfortunately, my passion for neck warmers wasn't there - bad timing, I wasn't ready and my project didn't take shape. Nevertheless, the idea germinated.

The year 2022 began a series of misadventures that forced me to rethink my priorities. Pandemic, burnout, loss of my dream job, disease and all the rest. I began to seriously realize that to be happy and balanced, I needed a job in which my hands and creativity would be useful. What's more, the aforementioned illness was now forcing me to avoid stress, or at least control it better. So I decided to choose my stress. To be its master. And to do that, I had to become my own boss, managing my own projects, my own deadlines, my own expectations. It was time to re-launch the small craft business idea, this time for good.
And so, in May 2023, I threw everything away to start my own small business. Five months later, I took part in my first craft market. Ten months later, I launched my own website. As they say, good things come to those who wait! Lolo Carotte is a project born of personal necessity, a pressing need. As for the funky, colorful form it takes, without giving it too much thought (because some things just come naturally), I'd say it's probably an uppercut I'm aiming at the illness, burnout, hard times, the pandemic, war, the housing crisis, the price of groceries, social injustices... And wham! In your face!
